Born in 1923 in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province, South of Vietnam.
Studied at the Gia Dinh Fine Arts School in Saigon from 1936-1938.
From 1940-1945 studied at the Indochina Fine Arts College
In 1951 to 1952 took part in the Cao Bac Lang campaign and drew pictures for Propaganda and sketches, and also made wood engravings.
In 1955 returned to Hanoi where he made illustrations for many newspapers. From now on, he composed a lot of oil paintings and lacquer paintings.
Returned to South where he lived in Saigon in 1977-1978.
After his wife died, he went again to Hanoi in1979.
In 1984 he held his first and only personal exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum of Vietnam, in Hanoi, where more than 140 of his works were displayed.
In 1987 he lived in Ho Chi Minh City and died on December 16, 1988.
In 1996 Ho Chi Minh Award according to decision No. 99/KT-CTN on October 9, 1996 signed by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
His works are represented in the Vietnam Art Museum, the Vatican Museum, and private collections in Vietnam and abroad.
